Drywall damage around electrical panel with exposed insulation and tubing before repair
Overview

The damage you can see. The repair you can't.

We recently completed a drywall repair patch for an area that had damage to the existing drywall and exposed tubing around an electrical box.

We carefully measured, cut, and installed a new drywall patch to fully cover the exposed areas, then made sure the repair was smooth, level, and blended into the existing wall surface.

Step by Step

From Opening to Invisible

Step 01

Starting Job

The existing drywall around the electrical box had damage and exposed tubing. First step is to carefully measure the area so the new patch fully covers everything that needs to be hidden.

Step 03

Filling In With Mud

Mud is built up over the patch and feathered into the surrounding wall to smooth and level the surface.

Step 04

Matching Existing Texture

Older or less common finishes have to be hand-textured to match. This wall took hand texturing to recreate the original appearance.

Finished Job

The completed repair, blended into the existing wall — the goal is always to make it look like the damage was never there.

Texture Matching

Why It Has to Be Done by Hand

One of the things we do on drywall repairs is matching existing wall textures, especially older or less common finishes that need specialized techniques. Some textures must be applied by hand — a method called hand texturing — to accurately recreate the original appearance.

Orange peel texture

No matter the texture or age of the wall, our goal is always the same: a seamless, professional finish that blends perfectly with the surrounding area.
